I'm feeling a bit inspired, by the cute red tomten sweater posted earlier, and by this:

That's a cute sweater/dress. It looks like the body is done with welting. I'd suggest something basic, like Cascade 220, perhaps? Or if you were feeling extravagant and wanted to achieve a lot of nice drape, something with silk content.
