Curse of the Gauge Dragon

I'm on my third take for a simple, raglan sweater but my gauge is more variable than I would've dared believe. There's something unearthly going on here. I call it "The Curse of the Gauge Dragon!!"

I've decided that when my knitting isn't so impressive to look at, then I should at least make an effort to make it seem more dramatic by writing it up as an exciting plot.

  • Did you swatch in the round? If you swatched on a flat piece and knitting in the round. The gauge will be different.....and so says EZ.....ask me how I know!

  • I often start on a sleeve and after five or six inches you can take the needle out and lay it flat. Measure the sleeve and mulitiply by two. From this measurement you can get your gauge. If it is right on you have part of a sleeve done. If not. Whoops. You at least have an accurate gauge.
